The Indian Nursing Council

The Indian Nursing Council is a national regulatory body for nurses and nurse education in India. It is an autonomous body under the Government of IndiaMinistry of Health & Family Welfare, constituted by the Central Government under section 3(1) of the Indian Nursing Council Act, 1947 of Indian parliament.[1]  Since 1947 Indian Nursing Council Act has undergone minimal amendments. This resulted in several anomalies that have impacted the morale of Registered Nurses in India especially those practicing in the private sector. The last amendment of the act was in the year 2006. According to the original act the function of the council is to provide uniformity in nursing education.

TELANGANA STATE NURSES AND MIDWIVES COUNCIL is an Autonomous Statutory Registration body constituted under the Andhra Pradesh Nurses and Midwives (Extension & Amendment) Act, 1964 and adapted to the state of Telangana, Vide G.O. Ms. No. 80, HM & FW (F1) Dept. Dt. 26.09.2015.TSNMC aim is to establish a uniform standard of education for Nurses, Midwives and Auxiliary Nurse Midwives and Health Visitors in the state of Telangana.

Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences,Warangal

Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS) is a public university in the city of WarangalTelanganaIndia. University is named after its poet, and political activist of Telangana – Kaloji Narayana Rao. Before the state bifurcation, all the medical colleges were affiliated to Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences. Post-bifurcation of the state, Government of Telangana established a new university “Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences”Prime Minister of IndiaNarendra Modi formally laid foundation to the university on 7 August 2016.[1] The re-affiliation of Telangana medical colleges with KNRUHS started from June 2016.
